A panel discussion on trade relations between the EU and the RF organized by Dita Charanzová in the EP

EU relations with the Russian Federation will be the topic of a panel discussion, which MEP Dita Charanzová holds on 24th September in the European Parliament. The platform will raise questions concerning the impacts of mutual sanctions and future prospects. "There is no doubt that the sanctions and embargo have influenced our business relations dramatically. The question thus arises whether the time has not come to start searching for new business partners for Europe instead of those existing in Russia. I therefore invited representatives of the European Commission and businesses to a joint table, so that they could clarify the mutual expectations and the real possibilities of the authorities," Dita Charanzová says. The seminar will therefore address both the impact of sanctions and possible actions that might mitigate their negative impact, as well as the measures that should be taken within European structures to allow for easier entry into new business partnerships.

The moderated discussion will be attended by Ignacio Garcia Bercero, Acting Deputy Director General of DG Trade, Radek Špicar, Vice President of Industry and Trade Union of the Czech Republic, Luisa Santos, Director of International Relations at Businesseurope and Reuters´ Brussels correspondent Robin Emmott.
